The Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue (UQAT) and the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) invite you to participate, from June 8 to 10, in the 2025 Symposium on Mines and the Environment.
The symposium is the result of a collaboration between the Institute for Research in Mines and the Environment (IRME) UQAT-Polytechnique, the Mineral Technology Research and Service Unit (URSTM) and many actors from governments and mining companies.
The objectives of the symposium are to share the latest knowledge and discuss practical experiences in order to find solutions to reconcile the exploitation of resources and the protection of the environment.
Presentations will be given in either English or French, as noted in the technical program, and will include translated subtitles.

Real, sustainable solutions
The Research Institute on Mines and the Environment (RIME) UQAT-Polytechnique is a unique joint research program created in collaboration with the University of Quebec in Abitibi-Témiscamingue (UQAT), Polytechnique Montréal, and six major industrial partners. The RIME seeks to develop innovative solutions for the environmental challenges faced throughout the entire life cycle of a mine. The Institute also trains a large number of graduate students specializing in the field of mining and the environment.
